About Us

Sunny Shimabukuro

In 1998, Sunny opened Sunny’s Beauty Concepts which evolved into Sunny’s Salon & Spa, offering a world class salon and spa experience. Sunny has been in the industry for over 20 years and has expertise in all things beauty. A hairstylist first and foremost, Sunny has been trained at prestigious establishments such as Vidal Sassoon, Redken NY, Nova, and the Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts.

More recently, Sunny has been swept up in the world of skin health. She is a certified Hydrafacialist and loves to see the results her clients are achieving with the Hydrafacial treatment. She continues to not only attend training seminars to expand her knowledge of skincare but she is always looking for ways to offer her clients the most state-of-the-art treatments.

When she’s not helping her clients get the best skin of their life, Sunny loves traveling, singing opera, golfing, and spending time with her cats.

Shara Shimabukuro

A year after receiving her degree from UC Davis in 2010, Shara ended up getting licensed in esthetics to work with her mom, Sunny. Shara quickly fell in love with the industry and building relationships with clients. Never one to be content offering the bare minimum that other spas offer, she went on to get trained and certified as a Hydrafacialist as well as a lash and permanent makeup artist.

In 2018, after 7 years in the industry, Shara decided to leave her business to Sunny in order to pursue her passion for design in the Bay Area and now resides in Oakland.

Shara makes routine trips back to Sunny’s Salon & Spa (about once a month) to take permanent makeup and some Hydrafacial clients. If you are one of her past clients and/or you are interested in booking one of those services, you can contact her at: sharaeri@gmail.com
